AllFreeCrochetAfghanPatterns Hosts Charity Blanket Drive

September 24 , 2012

Northbrook, IL — As we welcome fall with open arms, we can’t help but reflect back on the highlights of summer. During the month of June, AllFreeCrochetAfghanPatterns teamed up with Red Heart to host a Charity Blanket Drive to benefit Project Linus. From June 1-July 15, crocheters from all over the United States donated homemade afghans to the offices of Prime Publishing (home of AllFreeCrochetAfghanPatterns.com) in Northbrook, Ill.

Each person that donated a blanket was automatically entered to win a prize package from Red Heart. Included in this prize package was one large red and black canvas tote bag with the Red Heart logo, ten skeins of Red Heart Plush Baby yarn in Kiwi (along with one corresponding crochet baby blanket pattern), one package of Susan Bates plastic yarn needles,  one Susan Bates aluminum crochet hook (size I-9), and six various crochet magazines and brochures full of free tutorials and color photos. The winner of the prize was Ann Rosine of Shelbyville, Ill.

We’re happy to share that AllFreeCrochetAfghanPatterns.com received an overwhelmingly positive response from our online community of crafters. More than 100 homemade blankets were donated to Project Linus of North & Central Chicagoland, and we know the children that receive these homemade blankets will cherish them forever. We are so appreciative of the time, money, and love that went into making these wonderful blankets. It’s truly been a rewarding experience to help such a worthy cause. It’s very encouraging to know that such a small company can have such a large impact on those around us.
