Prime Publishing Launches Love & Oven Mitts Charity Drive

Northbrook, IL – Prime Publishing will be collecting oven mitts, potholders and dishcloths for the Love & Oven Mitts Charity Drive to benefit Love INC of Lake County through March 14.

Love INC of Lake County is a branch of a national network of volunteers from churches helping disadvantaged individuals to rebuild their lives and create new relationships. The donations from the Love & Oven Mitts Drive will be donated to families in the Lake County, IL area.

The charity drive is hosted on RecipeChatter.com and SeamsandScissors.com.

Jesse Carpender, editor of RecipeChatter.com, said “We’re excited to partner with Love INC to help give local families in need some of the home comforts everyone deserves.”

Crafters are invited to donate handmade items to the drive. Prime Publishing Builds Craft Relationships at Annual Networking Event

Northbrook, IL – This winter, 118 bloggers joined the editors from Prime Publishing LLC and 13 craft company sponsors for the 3^rd annual blogger networking event on Saturday, January 9, 2016. This well-known blogger party and networking opportunity for bloggers is an event designed especially by Prime Publishing LLC to bring together creative and crafty bloggers with crafting manufacturers and companies, allowing them to form mutually beneficial partnerships. Amidst the Craft and Hobby Association’s 2016 Mega Show, this intimate and exciting event allowed bloggers and companies to connect off the massive show floor of the world’s largest craft show. The CHA Mega Show featured over 400 manufacturers this year with 12,000 new products. Prime Publishing LLC’s much smaller event allowed bloggers and companies to meet in an informal, friendly, and smaller venue.

Reviews from the event were overwhelmingly positive and bloggers and companies alike deemed the event a total success. Held at the Hilton Anaheim between the hours of 7-9 PM, this event offered appetizers and cocktails as well as lively conversation. Exclusively open to active craft bloggers, the Blog Networking 2016 event allowed companies – Prime Publishing LLC included – to form lasting relationships with the best of the crafting world.

It was my third year attending as an editor at Prime and it’s so exciting to meet the folks we’ve been communicating with via email for the past year!,” said Dana Byerwalter, one of the promotions editors for Prime Publishing LLC, “It’s always a lot of fun and everyone gains from the experience, whether we meet new bloggers to work with or the bloggers meet a new company to collaborate with!”

The Craft and Hobby Mega Show 2017 is scheduled to take place in Phoenix, AZ from January 19-23 and the Prime team is already looking forward to the exciting event next year.

Prime Publishing Editors Pack Meals at Feed My Starving Children

Northbrook, IL – Ten Prime Publishing employees volunteered Nov. 10 and 12 at Feed My Starving Children in Libertyville, packing over 10,000 total meals for children in Honduras, Nicaragua and Tanzania.

Feed My Starving Children is a non-profit Christian organization wherein children and adults hand-pack meals specifically formulated for malnourished children around the world.

FMSC’s meals are a dry mix of varying ingredients that can include potato, soy, rice, vegetables, and vitamin and mineral vegetarian chicken flavoring mix. To pack a meal, a team of five fills and seals a bag together assembly-line style.

Erin Jones, marketing analyst, said ““It really struck me how we take the most basic need of food for granted. I learned when kids in other countries are in physical pain from hunger, parents can only soothe the hurt with cakes made of dirt. It broke my heart. I’ve never fully understood what a blessing it is to have so many options in my fridge that food becomes a matter of choice, not need. Food is even a social activity, like getting a bite with friends. Volunteering at Feed My Starving Children will definitely make me think twice before wasting food.”

Liz Abderholden, managing editor, said “Feed My Starving children has a fantastic set up that allows for any person from age 5 to age 80 participate. Every station is set for a certain country, which makes it feel a little more personalized. Plus, you get to have a fun cheer for each country when you finish. We worked towards packaging meals for Haiti, our cheer was “Haiti Rocks, We Got a Box” every time we filled a box of 50. The jobs are simple and allow for people to converse and socialize while working, which is also fun.”

Dana Byerwalter, editor, said “Before we started, the employees told us a bit about the organization and showed us a short video about what they do . . . The amount of food we packed is going to feed a LOT of people!”

Emily Racette, editor, said “I’ve volunteered there a handful of times now, and I always love going back. The atmosphere they create is lively with music playing in the background and competitions going on between each station. Volunteering her makes me realize how lucky we are to have food easily accessible in our own lives. This organization truly makes an impact, and I am so glad to have the chance to be part of it.”
