Email Marketing Remains a Powerful Branding Tool
October 15 , 2012Northbrook, IL — With so many social media outlets available for marketers to use, it can be easy to overlook the seemingly outdated resource of email marketing. While email’s sense of “newness” may have receded, an article by Search Engine Watch shows that its effectiveness is more relevant than ever.
While social media outlets have thrived in consumers’ personal lives, studies by Marketing Land show that 77 percent prefer permission-based emails from commercial outlets, rather than being contacted through social media. Not only do the consumers prefer commercialization in emails, but they’ll actually see it too. In fact, iContact has found that 72 percent of consumers check their email more than 6 times a day, making a consumer easily accessible through email.
Studies such as these have helped convince 67 percent of marketers to increase their email marketing budgets for the 2012 fiscal year, according to Mailer Mailer. Email newsletters may not be the newest advertising feature to hit the world wide web, however, its effectiveness with branding continues to grow, and marketers are continuing to ride on its success.
