E-mail Marketing Driving New Business

Northbrook, IL — Don’t trust the hype. At least, that’s the latest lesson learned in a 2013 article from Wired.com, which claims that despite the buzz around social media, businesses are better off gaining new consumers through e-mail marketing.

This new report originates from data provided by marketing outfit Custora who studied the acquisition channel growth of businesses over a four-year period, monitoring its areas of most significant growth. While the rate of consumer growth through e-mail marketing had quadrupled over the past four years to a remarkable 7%, Facebook and Twitter continue to barely register on consumers’ radar, suggesting that perhaps newer does not equal better.

By tracking the two-year purchase history of over 72 million consumers, Custora discerned that e-mail customers were far more valuable than the average customer—by 11%, no less. By comparison, Twitter followers were 23% less valuable than the average customer. Despite the “new” and “fresh” appeal of social media, it still cannot provide for businesses to the same degree as e-mail. Customers from organic search remain a business’s prized audience with 50% more value than the average customer, making them the most likely to shop and spend money with a given retailer. A customer obtained through CPC was second with 37% more value than average.

Plus, the marketer’s ability to personalize e-mail to fit the consumer combined with the security of delivery helps make e-mail marketing a sustainable, long-term prospect for businesses.

Consumers Prefer E-mail Communications

Northbrook, IL — New communication avenues develop at a rapid pace in today’s digital world.  Advertising brands have options when getting the consumers attention: text messages, blogs, social media, and more. Despite companies’ desire to jump aboard the trendiest tools, new research conducted by Lyris Labs and The Economist determined that 37% of consumers still prefer to learn about different brands through e-mail, more so than personal referrals from loved ones, social media, mobile devices, and more.

After the initial engagement, 52% of consumers reveal that e-mail remains one of the top three preferred communication platforms for brands during post-purchase follow-up, making it one of the strongest ways for advertisers to get their product and ensuing message across. By using personalization techniques to further tailor advertising to each consumer, advertisers can capitalize on available marketing research to maximize cost per revenue.

The demographic of these e-mail supporters may also come as a shock. The e-mail marketing field appeals to younger consumers as well (20–30-year-olds) who ranked e-mail communications as the second most-preferred form of brand outreach. Despite the powerful presence of younger consumers on social media, only 5% look to social media for brand engagement.

The value of e-mail marketing continues to appeal to consumers of all ages, confirming its place as one of the most powerful marketing resources available for developing and maintaining brand-to-consumer relationships.

Father’s Day Doesn’t Get Attention It Deserves

Northbrook, IL – According to Livestrong.com, parent-child bonding is increased when the parent is a stay-at-home mom or dad. Since the stay-at-home parent tends to have a closer relationship with his or her kids, society feels compelled to celebrate his or her work more. Since this role has historically been filled by females, Mother’s Day has become, by far, a larger holiday than the third Sunday in June.

However, gender roles are slowly, but surely, being done away with due to more Mr. Moms and single fathers, says National Geographic. So, what about those increasing numbers of dads who are spending the days with the kids? Shouldn’t they be celebrated just as much? And even those fathers who are working all day, don’t they deserve a large amount of recognition as well? It’s time for kids to take charge of these holidays to make sure that all parents are being honored equally. National Geographic releases shocking statistics that, while Father’s Day is becoming more popular, 90 million cards are sent on Father’s Day compared to 141 million on Mother’s Day. There are many potential arguments as to why this is, including the frequency of single-mother homes, but the facts are the facts. And while fathers won’t ever admit it, they too would like to be celebrated.

Luckily, making Father’s Day special is not hard. Dads are much more likely to be genuinely happy with their Father’s Day gifts, says psychologist Gilbert Cote. That means that you don’t have to go spend hundreds of dollars to make those special men in your life happy. Instead, they will be more than content with a homemade Father’s Day gift from kids. In fact, Dad and Grandpa will be overjoyed when you hand them gifts, cards, and decorations that you made on your own, especially ones that are specifically tailored to them. Fortunately, AllFreeKidsCrafts has gathered 16 amazing Father’s Day crafts for kids that are diverse, which means that you are guaranteed to find the perfect project to make for your dad.

Recent Crochet Survey Reveals Crocheters Interests

Northbrook, IL — A recent survey conducted by AllFreeCrochetAfghanPatterns.com reveals interests and habits of crocheters who subscribe to Laying It All Out, AllFreeCrochetAfghanPattern’s free email newsletter. This survey was aimed to help us learn more about our readers’ wants and needs as well as their preferences when it comes to the art of crocheting afghans.

If you found a $100 bill on the ground, what would you do? 50.7% of Laying It All Out readers said they would put it in the bank, but the next top answer (20.1%) was to spend the $100 all on yarn. Speaking of buying yarn, we asked if our readers considered themselves yarn hoarders and 40.5% said no. Many crocheters crochet for charity, but just how many of our readers do? 51.3% of the survey responders crochet for charity which is wonderful to hear.

When it comes to choosing yarn, the majority of AllFreeCrochetAfghanPattern readers (54.8%) enjoy working Red Heart Yarn and the yarn weight of choice is worsted weight (76.9%). When asked what type of hook they couldn’t live without, the favorite was the H/8 or 5 mm hook (31.4%) which works well with worsted weight yarn. Our readers may be impulsive buyers since 52.9% said they buy yarn whenever they see yarn they want to add to their stash, not just when they have a specific project in mind (33.2%).
