Prime Publishing Joins Craft Yarn Council to Celebrate I Love Yarn Day

October 27 , 2017

Northbrook, IL – Prime Publishing LLC joined the Craft Yarn Council to celebrate the seventh annual I Love Yarn Day on October 14, 2017. I Love Yarn Day, the second Saturday in October, is a day for yarn enthusiasts from across the globe to share what they love about yarn crafting. The theme, #StitchItForward, encourages crocheters and knitters to teach others these crafts.

Prime Publishing’s I Love Yarn Day campaign was a joint effort between editors and designer Kristi Simpson who created an original knit scarf and crochet scarf for a week-long knit along and crochet along exclusively hosted on AllFreeKnitting.com and AllFreeCrochet.com, respectively. In the spirit of #StitchItForward, yarn enthusiasts were encouraged to learn a new skill each day as they worked to complete their knit or crochet scarf.

In addition to the five video tutorials for each scarf pattern, Prime Publishing LLC hosted a corresponding giveaway featuring wonderful prizes from company sponsors LoveKnitting.com, LoveCrochet.com, and YarnPop. Prizes included various skeins of yarn and a portable, stylish project bag.

The celebration also featured social media promotion to our 3.2 million followers, as well as two blog features on Stitch & Unwind.

As Jenny Bessonette, executive director of the Craft Yarn Council, said, “I Love Yarn Day is all about looking back on what yarn has meant in people’s lives. Whether your grandmother or best friend taught you how to knit or crochet, these are activities that anyone can learn and enjoy.”

Be sure to check out the AllFreeKnitting.com knit along and the AllFreeCrochet.com crochet along to learn how you can make a beautiful scarf of your own and #StitchItForward in honor of I Love Yarn Day.
