FaveCrafts and RecipeLion Host 12 Days of Christmas in July
Northbrook, IL — FaveCrafts and RecipeLion launched their fourth annual 12 Days of Christmas in July Promotion. Twenty-four companies from the food and crafting industries have joined forces with Prime Publishing to create the most exciting Christmas in July promotion to date. Each day a recipe or project will be featured alongside a prize readers can enter to win. Last year, the FaveCrafts promotion received 62,575 entries, while the RecipeLion promotion received a total of 45,183 entries!
“Each time we run a large promotion like the 12 Days of Christmas in July, we get better and better prizes for the readers. I am especially excited about this year’s selection!” says Managing Editor Arielle Hofherr. This year, crafting companies from across the world are sponsoring the giveaways, including Expression Fiber Arts, Westcott, Leisure Arts, Plaid, Fairfield, Kai Scissors, Xyron, Red Heart, Monaluna, 3L from Scrapbook Adhesives, and Darn Good Yarn. AllFreeHolidayCrafts Hosts Ornament Charity Drive
Northbrook, Illinois – AllFreeHolidayCrafts is happy to announce our first charity drive to date! In an effort to help raise money for the Heartland Alliance, AllFreeHolidayCrafts is collecting handmade ornaments to donate to the charitable organization throughout the month of November 2014. In addition to these handmade creations, Prime Publishing LLC will also be donating one dollar for each handmade ornament collected; up to $1,000. The handmade ornaments will be handed out to the familes located at one of Heartland Alliance’s residential homes throughout the month of December 2014 to spread some holiday cheer.
Each year, Heartland Alliance helps to support people around the world who are homeless, living in poverty, or seeking safety. This is not Prime Publishing’s first time donating to charity. In fact, Prime Publishing has successfully hosted a number of charity drives in the past and worked with a variety of organizations including Project Linus, Special Olympics, Mittens for Detroit, the Northwest Community Hospital, and the American Heart Association. With the help of our charitable (and very talented) readers, Prime Publishing has donated more than:
— 200 homemade blankets (crochet afghans, baby blankets, and quilts) to Project Linus

Sixty-Three Percent of Surveyed Slow Cooker Fans Use Their Slow Cookers All Year Long
Northbrook, IL – In a recent survey conducted by AllFreeSlowCookerRecipes.com, we found that 63.7 percent of readers surveyed said they use their slow cooker all year long, not just during one particular season. Thirty-four percent said they used their slow cookers most during the winter, and about 20 percent said they use their slow cookers most during the fall season. The survey was taken by subscribers of The Slow Cooker Chronicle and was conducted for two weeks.
The survey included questions on how readers engage with our newsletters, and also asked readers about their slow cooking habits. As we head into November, it was interesting to find that of all the major holidays, our readers use their slow cookers most for Thanksgiving, with Christmas coming in a close second. Throughout the year, 12 percent of those surveyed use their slow cookers three to four times a week, and 21 percent use their slow cookers twice a week. It should be no surprise that over 57 percent of those surveyed consider themselves to be intermediate-level cooks!
When we asked readers which ingredient, from a list of 13, was their favorite to incorporate in their cooking, 89 percent of those surveyed chose chicken. That said, when we asked readers what was the quirkiest way they’ve ever cooked with their slow cookers, they had some wild slow cooker uses, including using their slow cookers to make tie dye, soap, to melt wax for candles, to thaw auto parts, to prepare dog food, to germinate plant seeds, to make cold medicine, to heat stones for a back massage, and more! Some respondents erred more on the side of traditional. One respondent noted, “I found baking a cake in the crock pot so foreign, until I did it and now I barely use my oven for such things as cakes.”

Northbrook, IL – Easter is one of the most important holidays celebrated in America according to Rasmussen Reports, which found that 44% of survey respondents thought it was the most important holiday. Retailers too consider Easter one of the biggest holidays for the nation.
