January 06 , 2014Northbrook, IL – Stitch and Unwind is the official blog for AllFreeCrochet, AllFreeeCrochetAfghanPatterns and AllFreeKnitting. Many loyal crocheters, knitters, bloggers and enthusiasts visit the Stitch and Unwind blog daily, but this time the blog was awarded with the 2013 Awesome Crochet Blogger Award from Kathryn Vercillo, blogger of Crochet Concupiscence.
The Awesome Crochet Blogger Award is when Kathryn celebrates 30+ of the best crochet bloggers on the web. The blog gets recognition that Kathryn thinks they are doing something amazing. “I read about 300 crochet blogs regularly so I’d like to think that I have a good grasp on the pulse of the crochet blogging world.”
When a blog rounds up the best free crochet patterns into one location, it’s extremely helpful to the crochet enthusiast about what project they might work up next; it’s great inspiration and a great place to find other bloggers. These roundups link to the patterns for bloggers to use, which is why the blog is worth recognizing.
Kathryn chose Stitch and Unwind as the winning blog of the year because it “regularly does crochet pattern roundups linking to various free crochet patterns from their network. What I love most is their themes, some of which are common themes that many of us are interested in working (such as round ripple afghan patterns) and others that are truly unique and inspirational (such as tribal crochet patterns). Each post includes a personable introduction to the theme. The links to the free crochet patterns are sometimes sorted by subcategories within the theme.” Stitch and Unwind usually gets over 100,000 visits per month.
