Digital Content Editor

February 01 , 2024

Job Description:
Through its network of niche content websites, Prime Publishing enables consumers to ‘enrich lives and build community’ every day. The company creates women’s lifestyle content in the cooking and crafting niches.

We are seeking experienced Digital Content Editors for our content sites. Experience with crafting or cooking is a plus but not required. Our content is in the areas of crafting (general, knitting, crochet, quilting, sewing, jewelry), recipes (desserts, general recipes, healthy recipes), and related niche content targeted primarily to women. We are a fast-growing company creating quality content and engaging consumers.

While we have a comprehensive training program, we prefer candidates with at least 2-5+ years of online or related editorial work experience.

Our editors work or collaborate in teams, and our training program includes:
– CMS – We have developed a proprietary content management system (CMS).
– SEO-Driven Content Creation – We teach you the basics about writing engaging copy, creating headlines and how to use analytical tools to write articles that will be found by consumers using search features on our websites and search engines.
– Email Marketing – We have developed a proprietary email marketing software system. We will teach you how to use this platform to build and analyze email newsletters.
– Public Relations/Blogger Outreach – We engage in an active series of campaigns, and our training covers sources of publicity, locating and engaging bloggers, writing press releases and blog posts, adding new projects/recipes, and tracking results.
– eBook creation – We offer our consumers free, downloadable PDF format books, typically 25-150 pages, and often themed around holidays. Our editorial teams research, create, publish, and promote these eBooks.

Digital Content Editors will work on our three primary sources of generating website traffic – newsletters, site content, and community:
– Newsletters – Create and analyze content for our daily email newsletters in order to maximize site traffic, reader engagement, open rates, and click rates.
– Site Content – Create, aggregate, and monitor content for our websites to increase monthly traffic from various sources.
– Community/Engagement – Promote and monitor content performance across major social media platforms and bloggers/influencers to reach a wider audience and drive increased traffic to our websites.

Qualifications:
– College graduate, preferably with BA/BS in English, Communications, Journalism, or similar concentration.
– At least 2 years of relevant online or relevant/related publishing experience is preferred
– Good understanding of HTML and/or online media.
– Strong writing, editing, research, communication, and time management skills.
– Detail-oriented with the ability to meet deadlines effectively and multitask.
– Interest in and/or experience with women’s lifestyle content.
