Prime Publishing Named LiveIntent’s Publisher of the Week

Northbrook, IL – Prime Publishing, LLC has been named LiveIntent’s Publisher of the Week. LiveIntent allows advertisers and publishers to provide the best-matched ads for each publication, maximizing their marketing value.

Prime Publishing was noted for adopting the LiveIntent Bid Manager (LBM) platform. Prime’s dual focus on attaining new subscribers while appealing to current subscribers is aided by LiveIntent’s Custom Audience technology, a tool aimed at showing the most relevant advertisements to each consumer, creating a personalized user experience every time. The Custom Audience technology not only helps publishers reach out to a wider audience, but it helps re-engage the inactive consumers.

A January 2014 article by LiveIntent notes that e-mail marketing was found to be 40x more effective than Twitter and Facebook marketing combined in acquiring customers. 91% of consumers still check their e-mail daily, despite the drop in usage from 2008–2012.

E-Mail Marketing More Valuable Than Social Media

The difference, Nick Dujnic from LiveIntent claims, is intent. “The act of opening an email is, in itself, a commitment to its content,” Dujnic said. “Whereas in social feeds, like Facebook and Twitter, the content a person sees is incidental to the reason they might be present there. When a person opens and [sic] email, the content is the reason.”

LiveIntent’s Custom Audience technology is one way to take advantage of this highly engaged audience. Prime Publishing’s strategy to maximize the potential in an engaged consumer has put them on the cutting edge of digital marketing.

Prime Publishing Unites Craft Companies and Bloggers at CHA Event

Northbrook, IL – The warm California sunshine was a welcome surprise to many bloggers, companies, exhibitors, and press personnel at this year’s Craft & Hobby Association 2014 Mega Show in Anaheim, CA, held at the Anaheim Convention Center from January 10-14, 2014.  With 450 exhibitors and several hundred attendants, the 2014 Mega Show is the world’s largest crafting show and is a wonderful networking opportunity for all those who attend.

Wanting to help companies and bloggers come together in a more intimate setting, the editors of Prime Publishing held the 2nd annual Blogger Networking Event on Saturday, January 11th.  With fifteen company sponsors and more than 100 bloggers and designers in attendance, the Blogger Networking Event has created quite the buzz on the CHA show floor and has become one of the most sought-after tickets at CHA.  Time and again, this event proves to be a valuable and beneficial way to bring the best companies and the best bloggers in the crafting industry together for a night of fun, food, and awesome networking opportunities.

“This event was so charged up, the room was loud and it was so hardcore,” said Michael Sellick, the crochet designer behind The Crochet Crowd.  “Everywhere you looked, there was social engagement, laughter, connection, and opportunities for all.  Of any networking events I have attended, EVER, this will be one that I will long remember.”

Bloggers were able to enjoy cocktails, a free food buffet, and 5-10 minutes of talk time with each sponsoring company.  Bloggers also went home with four bags full of swag from the participating companies and now have the opportunity to use those products to create a project of their own design and post it to FaveCrafts.com.  The winning project (to be determined by popular vote) will be awarded a $1,000.00 cash prize.  All the submissions will also be included in an upcoming free eBook that will live on FaveCrafts.com.

Feedback from the event has been overwhelmingly positive. Sellick added, “That probably has been the MOST powerful networking event I have ever attended. The fact that you couldn’t bring the room in order because the networking was so hot speaks volumes.”

Prime Publishing, LLC Speaks at 2014 Craft and Hobby Mega Show

Northbrook, IL – Chris Wright, Director of Sales & Marketing for Prime Publishing, LLC, and Simone Collins, Craft Editorial Director and Social Media Director for Prime Publishing, LLC, spoke at the 2014 Craft and Hobby Mega Show, hosted by the Craft & Hobby Association (CHA) in Anaheim, California on January 13th, 2014. CHA is an international, not-for-profit trade association, consisting of thousands of member companies engaged in the design, manufacture, distribution, and retail sales of products in the nearly $30 billion U.S. craft and hobby industry.

Wright’s seminar, entitled ROI Focused Advertising – Online & In Print, discussed how to compare the value of print magazines vs national online options. Attendees learned how to determine the true circulation of a magazine or verify the number of visitors to a site.

The seminar discussed in-depth what line items to track to determine ROI, such as media and creative expenses, income, COGS, and lifetime value of the customer. In addition, free tools such as the Statement of Ownership, Management & Circulation, Compete.com, and essential things to look for to determine quality. Additionally, a quick how-to on Google Adwords, Craigslist, and Patch.com were included as sources. The session finished with examples of bad advertising and what to include in an ad to make sure it is successful. The seminar used specific examples from craft print publications as well as Prime’s community of craft newsletters and solo emails to demonstrate effective ads and added value options.

Collins’s seminar, entitled Be An Author in 2 Hours or Less, taught the attendees about the benefits of offering eBooks to consumers and the step-by-step guide to bringing those eBook ideas into reality.

Attendees learned the differences in creating eBooks on behalf of retailers, bloggers, and manufacturers and the pros and cons of creating free eBooks versus paid eBooks. Collins also discussed the key elements of publishing a great eBook, including how to choose the best content, how to create an eye-catching design, and how to successfully publish the finished product. By using these techniques, attendees learned how to create an eBook that can help grow one’s business, generate growth, and provide value to the consumer.

Prime Publishing, LLC was launched in 2009 and today has 24 websites focused on providing consumers with niche craft and recipe content.  Each site is supported with an eNewsletter and its own Facebook, Pinterest, Twitter, and YouTube channels.

Stitch and Unwind Shines with Awesome Crochet Blogger Award

Northbrook, IL – Stitch and Unwind is the official blog for AllFreeCrochet, AllFreeeCrochetAfghanPatterns and AllFreeKnitting. Many loyal crocheters, knitters, bloggers and enthusiasts visit the Stitch and Unwind blog daily, but this time the blog was awarded with the 2013 Awesome Crochet Blogger Award from Kathryn Vercillo, blogger of Crochet Concupiscence.

The Awesome Crochet Blogger Award is when Kathryn celebrates 30+ of the best crochet bloggers on the web. The blog gets recognition that Kathryn thinks they are doing something amazing. “I read about 300 crochet blogs regularly so I’d like to think that I have a good grasp on the pulse of the crochet blogging world.”

When a blog rounds up the best free crochet patterns into one location, it’s extremely helpful to the crochet enthusiast about what project they might work up next; it’s great inspiration and a great place to find other bloggers. These roundups link to the patterns for bloggers to use, which is why the blog is worth recognizing.

Kathryn chose Stitch and Unwind as the winning blog of the year because it “regularly does crochet pattern roundups linking to various free crochet patterns from their network. What I love most is their themes, some of which are common themes that many of us are interested in working (such as round ripple afghan patterns) and others that are truly unique and inspirational (such as tribal crochet patterns). Each post includes a personable introduction to the theme. The links to the free crochet patterns are sometimes sorted by subcategories within the theme.” Stitch and Unwind usually gets over 100,000 visits per month.

For those who have visited the blog, they know they can find just what they’re looking for. And for those who haven’t, be sure you check it out for your next project. On behalf of Prime Publishing and the Stitch and Unwind blog, we’d like to thank Kathryn for her dedication to our blog as well as the amazing award itself. Here’s to an exciting New Year!

New Site, FaveSouthernRecipes.com, Offers The Best In Country Cooking

Northbrook, IL —  Traditional Southern cooking is an iconic symbol of American culture and remains the most recognizable of the United States’ regional cuisines.  Even those who are not from the South continue to make and enjoy classic dishes that originated south of the Mason-Dixon Line. In order to bring the best Southern dishes to everyday, at-home cooks, we are pleased to introduce Prime Publishing LLC’s new Southern cooking recipe website, FaveSouthernRecipes.com.

Recently, a growing interest in comfort food has spread from the South to other parts of the country. According to the 2012 Zagat guide, the popularity of Southern food is on the rise. More and more recipes are emerging that reflect a fusion between traditional Southern cooking and other regions’ influences. Virginia Willis, a Southern chef and food writer, recently stated, “It’s nice to see other Americans learn about our cuisine, and hopefully, learn more truth about the true nature of Southern cooking.” It seems that every day, people around the country are discovering that just because they aren’t from the South doesn’t mean that Southern food doesn’t have a place in their kitchen.

FaveSouthernRecipes.com offers place for born-and-bred Southerners and Yankees alike to come together in search of authentic Southern fare. FaveSouthernRecipes offers readers recipes for grits, classic biscuit recipes, authentic Southern cornbread recipes, and a myriad of other comforting foods. No matter what sort of recipes readers are seeking, they will undoubtedly be able to find what they want on FaveSouthernRecipes.com.

New Site: AllFreeDIYWeddings.com

Northbrook, IL – Prime Publishing LLC, a leader in multi-platform cooking and crafting brands, has just launched its newest site, AllFreeDIYWeddings.com. Remaining consistent with Prime’s other brands, AllFreeDIYWeddings.com informs, inspires, and engages international audiences, though this time through the universal love for romance. Offering advice, tutorials, giveaways, reviews, tips, and inspiration, the site presents brides-to-be, wedding enthusiasts, young dreamers, friends, and families with everything needed to create their own happily ever after.

As costs of weddings continue to rise, interest in do-it-yourself celebrations does so as well. In fact, Splendid Insights, a company devoted to wedding and lifestyle market research, released a study in 2010 showing that interest in DIY weddings has increased 126% since 2007. Liene Stevens, an expert on business and consumer behavior for the wedding industry, argues that this is partly due to the desire for creative expression. Whether you buy that reasoning or not, the DIY wedding fad has become a standard that’s here to stay, and AllFreeDIYWeddings.com wants to help brides and their trusted cohorts by putting everything they need in one place.

Visit the site for bridal shower ideas, decoration tutorials, tips on creating the perfect seating chart, advice on keeping the marriage young, and, of course, DIY crafts. Sixty-Three Percent of Surveyed Slow Cooker Fans Use Their Slow Cookers All Year Long

Northbrook, IL – In a recent survey conducted by AllFreeSlowCookerRecipes.com, we found that 63.7 percent of readers surveyed said they use their slow cooker all year long, not just during one particular season. Thirty-four percent said they used their slow cookers most during the winter, and about 20 percent said they use their slow cookers most during the fall season. The survey was taken by subscribers of The Slow Cooker Chronicle and was conducted for two weeks.

The survey included questions on how readers engage with our newsletters, and also asked readers about their slow cooking habits. As we head into November, it was interesting to find that of all the major holidays, our readers use their slow cookers most for Thanksgiving, with Christmas coming in a close second. Throughout the year, 12 percent of those surveyed use their slow cookers three to four times a week, and 21 percent use their slow cookers twice a week. It should be no surprise that over 57 percent of those surveyed consider themselves to be intermediate-level cooks!

When we asked readers which ingredient, from a list of 13, was their favorite to incorporate in their cooking, 89 percent of those surveyed chose chicken. That said, when we asked readers what was the quirkiest way they’ve ever cooked with their slow cookers, they had some wild slow cooker uses, including using their slow cookers to make tie dye, soap, to melt wax for candles, to thaw auto parts, to prepare dog food, to germinate plant seeds, to make cold medicine, to heat stones for a back massage, and more! Some respondents erred more on the side of traditional. One respondent noted, “I found baking a cake in the crock pot so foreign, until I did it and now I barely use my oven for such things as cakes.”

You’ll find many slow cooker “baking” ideas on AllFreeSlowCookerRecipes.com, along with hundreds of other easy cooking ideas. We advise you to wash your slow cooker or keep a separate one in the house if you’re going to try cooking up inedible items, such as auto parts in your crock!

At AllFreeSlowCookerRecipes.com, we encourage you to get as creative as you can when using your slow cooker. We’re here to help you cook up delicious creations. We want to thank all of those folks who participated in our survey. We will use the results from this survey to improve our Web site and newsletter, The Slow Cooker Chronicle. We always welcome your feedback.

This year, approach your Thanksgiving celebration with frugality. You can’t help the price of food, but you can control your budget when it comes to decorations. Instead of buying Thanksgiving decorations that you picked out of your favorite retailer’s catalog, make your own from the Give Thanks: 10 Sewing Ideas for Thanksgiving free eBook. Thanksgiving crafts from this eBook provide solutions to your table top troubles, dinner place mat dilemmas, and children’s high energy during dinner.

Apart from its budget-friendliness and design contributions, Give Thanks: 10 Sewing Ideas for Thanksgiving can enhance your holiday by providing priceless memories. Work with friends and family to make DIY Thanksgiving decorations that will create shared experiences to enjoy and remember. Thanksgiving ideas start here in this free eBook from AllFreeSewing.
